The Evolution of Modern Marketing Automation [Infographic]

Can you imagine not having a phone? What about a computer? Or if your computer (or phone) didn’t have Internet? Can you picture running your business without any of these? Would you even have a business?

You certainly wouldn’t be reading this post right now! And companies would still be marketing their businesses the old-fashioned (read “difficult”) way.

Luckily for us, we have a vast array of tools available that not only make our lives easier, but help us streamline and scale business processes in several areas from communication to database management to marketing.

But how did we get from marketing distribution relying on low postage rates to using marketing automation and its multifaceted sophistication? As technology and business have evolved, so has marketing.

The folks at Marketo, who we are proud to work with, recently released a definitive guide on this subject (that is actually pretty darn definitive). We collaborated with them to chart the evolution of marketing automation from the early 20th Century to now. We also take a look into the future to see how marketing automation tools will take us further.
